  • The decision whether or not to have something reupholstered really depends on you and your piece of furniture. Quality upholstery can really set a piece apart from commercially available options, and it offers a way for you to express your unique interior design style. Even very tired and well-worn furniture can be rejuventated and made to look (and feel) better-than-new. Special pieces are often reborn in materials of a higher quality than the ones they were originally built with.

    It’s true that not every piece of furniture is worth the investment of reupholstery. A lot of time and effort goes into the craft so if a piece isn’t particularly special to you then it might be time to look for something new. It really is a personal decision.

    That said, there are many benefits to having a piece of furniture reupholstered. These include:

    • giving new life and longevity to cherished furniture;

    • updating the style, comfort and freshness of your home;

    • helping the planet by keeping good furniture from being discarded and extra furniture from being made;

    • bringing a sense of playfulness and joy in your home by choosing bold or beautiful fabrics that express your personal style.

  • Yes! Eco-friendly upholstery is one of our specialties and there are a range of ways that we can help you help the planet. You can choose low-impact materials from fabrics to fillings such as wool and recycled fibre or recycled and reconstituted foams. We can even build you a sofa with no foam at all. We plan to do more in this space soon so stay tuned to see what develops!

    In addition, all the old foams that are replaced on your furniture are collected and sent, along with our offcuts, to be recycled into other products, minimising the amount of waste sent to landfill.

  • The short answer to this is no. Our specialties are domestic upholstery and seating for hospitality. Auto, marine and canvas work are our cousins in the trade, but to be honest, we’re not really in touch that often.

  • You can reach us anytime via our contact page or email. We aim to respond quickly but please have patience. At times we’ll be out of the workshop or busy on the tools so we might not always be able to answer the phone.
